Giving them more screen-time (page-time?) would have probably muddied up the fast-paced action ending I was going for. And they didn't *really* have too much of a part of play here, something I recognized when I switch perspective to Theodor. The next arc or two will return back to them as the tournament progresses.

I imagine so! I was ready with an idea when a new HHC was announced :P Now, I might tweak or postpone it to work that in, as I'm pretty jazzed on teh idea!
