Eh? I don't see the difference. Isn't what I am suggesting _exactly_ what
the OVER command has to do anyway?

BTW, on looking at the OVER command, I see that it make no mention of
collapsing whitespace (or folds). Obviously this must be done, because you
cannot allow sputious TABs to appear in the overview. But I will let Clive
propose text to fix that one.
