I've just seen the latest High Concept Challenge: Back From The Dead.
This is *not* part of any upcoming Powernaut plot. Of course I love to
fold a random plot device into my stories, but I've used that plot
device enough already. (It figured in the build-up to Powernaut 2011.)
So, we'll see, but I might sit this one out.
However, I can't stop Powernaut comics. But I can take a rest, and this
is the time of year for it. The RACCies are soon. On the Powernaut's
pages, I refer to those as the Powernaut All-Star Break. But Powernaut
comics will resume no later than early June.
I have to decide what to publish next, though. This is especially
important because Free Powernaut Comic Day #2 is almost here. My
favorite comic book store will be handing out "PowerTEEN Meets Paula
Power!", and so will I. (If you want one, it's at
http://www.eilertech.com/stories/powernaut/1955.pdf .) I really ought
to follow up on that big bit of marketing.
My publishing schedule goes 2005, 1960s, 2005, 1960s... By that
schedule, 2005 Episode 4 is rightfully next. That's the big series
"Occulator Compuplex", which resolves everything the other 2005 series
have mentioned. 2005 is of course the home of decompressed
storytelling, though. I've plotted six strips, and it'll take that many
just to set up the menace. And this (like the rest of Powernaut 2005)
has already been published as text stories. People can search
"Occulator Compuplex" on Google to see how this story ends.
However, Powernaut 1912 has intervened in my publishing. So I might go
2005, 1968, 1912, 1969! Powernaut 1969 is the big "Hypergaard" series.
I've started plotting that in parallel with "Occulator Compuplex".
Powernaut 1969 will be explosive within the first two strips, before it
even mentions Hypergaard. And it *does* mention Paula Power!
Increasingly I think I need to do that one next.
You're all in the Powernaut's online Power Patrol, at least as honorary
members. (You can make it official at
https://www.facebook.com/powernaut if you like. The Powernaut would
love that.) So I'm taking a non-binding poll. What would you like to
see next: Occulator Compuplex 2005, or Hypergaard 1969?
