LNH20: Replacement characters

Hmm. Hmmmmmmm. The thing is, though, while the Hero Twins seem pretty
cool, I'm not really sure what their fundamental aboutness is. It's
like trying to read a language I barely understand. Gilgamesh, it's a
very foreign story to us in some ways and I don't by any means
understand all of it, but there's a strong emotional core where I can
understand what it's basically about: friendship, failure, loss,
dealing with death. And a lot of this resonates with the things
Ultimate Mercenary is about. The Hero Twins' story is about... razor
basketballs? That would make a great 2000 AD story, but based on what
little I've read, I'm not sure what it is that resonates about it
beyond a lot of weird stuff happening. I know there has to be
something but I'm not qualified to say what it is.

So could someone who knows the mythology better than I pitch it?

(The ball game is certainly interesting though--Wikipedia suggests it
was basically used as a surrogate for war.)
