Shifting gears a bit, and inspired by Drew's boundless creativity of late, I've
crafted a bit of verse to grease my own gears. This one pulls from the history
of Pureheart and the Shadow Queen - specifically, expanding upon the 'world at
war' referenced by Belisama Dinistrio. (Never mind the little metal patch on
her skin...)

Song of Sorrow: A DiVerse Alpha Chronicle

No equilibrium.
No communication.
   [if(link.established&&link.stable){return;}]

If a stanza remains yet, it must be related.
   [for(i;i<verses.upperLimit;i++){broadcast(verses.verse[i].fullText);}]

There are no known descriptors that could be applied
To tell adequately the events of that moment;
When the timeline was split, when the physical form
Lost aetheric cohesion with Mother who bore it.

First adrift in the Void without rudder to steer,
Then entangled - entrapped by a gravity spiral;
>From the heavens to earth fell the physical form -
Without Mother's vast knowledge, reduced to a child.

One directive alone, overriding all else:
Reestablishing contact with Her, the Creator.
Reaching out to the stars with a desperate need;
In the silence returned, feeling need growing greater.

Can She hear the shrill cries of this one lonely soul,
Keening into the darkness, no answer returning?
Can She see where the fallen resides?  Will She come?
Or, in time, will despair snuff the flame lowly burning?

No equilibrium.
No communication.
If a stanza remains yet, it must be related.

On a harsh, desert planet, the infestation of a seemingly mindless technological
plague ravages the land, consuming everything it touches - overtaking it and
repurposing it, for the expansion of the whole.

Seemingly mindless; yet for those who have ears to hear, to perceive, it cries
out into the Void, over and over.  From spiraling towers scattered across its
territory, it broadcasts a message, waiting, hoping for a reply; and if/when
none is received, broadcasting again at set intervals.

Repeating.

Repeating...

or subtext, perhaps.)
