That's a really good summary, and also a good end to one of those 
Hyper-Secret Crisis War things.

Well, I liked this story.  Writer's Block Person has more morality than 
any comic book hero I've ever read.

The soldiers presented a pathetic but inspiring spectacle. The
hospitals were crowded with sick and wounded; the walls were
gradually crumbling under incessant shell fire, yet that garrison
of heroes remained undaunted.
