Unless those pistols fire high explosive, I think Fiona overrates her 
chances.  (And if they do, I wonder how she survived the fire.)  If only 
there were a gentleman-scholar nearby who realizes that hydrochloric 
acid plus a jigger of formaldehyde creates a vapor which is toxic to 
primordial slime...!
