ah, yes, Notes are a good way to put information in without slowing down
the story. To honor that way, I'm going to put my comments here in no
particular order.

* I recall Derek and Martin were stranded on a world where *everything*
wanted to kill them. And I suspect that still happened somewhere. But
I think it worked out better this way. The multiple Dereks and Martins
got all those good chances to express their heroism - and get one of
themselves back. And that "bridge" scene made for a better scene than
Everything-Wants-To-Kill-Us-World would have. (Thinking of Stanford
Bridge, were you?)

* I like the idea of Jolt City being the city of Joliet, err, Juliet.
And that's a pretty cool conspiracy behind it. I'm wondering whether
the point man of the 1000-year levitical order behind the conspiracy,
should have a good comeback ready whenever someone mentions the Catholic
Church excommunicating scientists. But then, he may have been placed
there purely for being Mr. Congeniality in just such a crisis situation.

* Oh, good tie-in with the Nevada incident! And thanks for the note to
explain it. Now, can we see the *happy* Dyzen'thari sometime? 8{D>

* One part action to two parts epilogue, was fine with me. Especially
if that's who I think it is, walking on panel for that last scene.

... So, yes, I enjoyed this story. Isn't it fun to finally finish a
year's worth of stories that takes several years to tell? ... Well, it
was fun when I finally finished my 2005 stories this year, anyway.
