Okay, who wants one more 1970s comic? We do! We do!! And there's
nothing more 70s than Our Heroes in an ad.

Bonus Section: 2005 Reprint Commentary from Stephen Oliver Samuels
(S.O.S.)! Sugar Frosted Air
In my travels I've seen some very boring places, particularly including
remote military bases, where one of the leading amusements was snorting
nitrous oxide. It's harmless; dentists use it for sedation. But you
have to be very, very bored before you embrace it as a recreation.
As you can see, there *was* an attempt to sell nitrous oxide for
recreation. It figures that the 1970s Powernaut was associated with it.
But it's ironic that the real Powernaut (of 1941 - 1966) still
appeared in these ads. Even after more than a decade from his
disappearance, he was still the Powernaut everyone remembered.
...
Author's Note: Maine in November also qualifies. That's where *I* saw
nitrous oxide as a form of recreation.
