Confirmed!  I found this posted in September, 1994: "[T]here is also a
subbasement with HoloDecStations and a
sub-subbasement which, if nothing else, contains Continuity Champ's
old stuff."  So there was a reference to a single sub basement in an
old pre-September 1994 Continuity Champ story.  Then in August, 1997,
there was a reference to there being 665 sub basements.  That was Tom
Russell.  I don't know if that number is considered canon though.
