Michael King, Lana Lewis and Mary Bailey: crime scene
investigators.  John Phelps, Mark Johnston and Tom
Jackson: police officers.  Jack Greenspan and Edward
Bailey: medical examiners.  Alan Russell and Roger
Roeper: lawyers.  These men and women are truly our
last line of defense.  But what about the capes whose
cases they have to investigate?  Should they be
considered a help or a hindrance?

Friday, 7:30 pm

  "Jamie?  What are you doing here?"
  "He's got a gun!  Jamie got a gun Jamie got a gun!"
  "Shut up!" Jamie said  "Just shut up!"
  "Jamie, why are you here?"
  "I just want to talk!"
  "Then why bring a gun?"
  "Yeah, Jamie, you should put that away!"
  "I told you to shut up!  This is between me and her!"
  "Just put the gun away, Jamie, and then we'll talk."
  "No, I ain't putting the gun away."
  "So... are going to kill me?"
  "Kill you?  No!  I just want you to hear what I have to say!

  "You have the right to remain silent.  Anything you say can and will
be used against you in a court of law.  You have the right to an
attorney.  If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for
you.  Do you understand these rights?"
  Jamie didn't answer.  Detective John Phelps grew impatient.
  "Well?  Do you?"
  "You said I had the right to remain silent."
  "Fuck you."
  Detective Michael King questioned the witness.
  "Could you tell us what you saw?"
  "He shot her in cold blood!  Shot through the heart, and he's to
blame!  Jamie!  He gives love a bad name!"
  "Would you be willing to testify to that?"
  "Absolutely!  And this time I hope he stays in jail for good!"
  Phelps overheard her.  "This time?" he asked.
  "Yeah!  He shot his last girlfriend too!"
  Phelps looked at Jamie.  "Is that true?"
  Jamie smiled.

"Oops! I did it again
I played with a heart, got lost in the game

Oops! She'll think I'm in love
That I'm sent from above
I'm not that innocent"

  John sighed.  "That's a confession."
  "No, it isn't!"
  "Yes it is!  I already read you your rights!  Dumbass!"
