In theory you could also use a linguist.  Obviously that would not be
my WC because I am not good at learning languages.  I already created
Linguist Lass for the LNH and she appeared in a few stories by others
so people must have thought it was useful to have somebody who can do
translation and interpretation.  Note that on Enterprise they had
Hoshi and she seemed to also have an innate ability to learn
languages.  Note that as we already had a character like that in the
LNH we can't be accused of copying them.

Anyway, you can go ahead and use Linguist Lass.  I don't plan on
writing her: I just think it is a useful ability to have.  (Although
Louise Simonson did kill off Cypher of the New Mutants.)  Anyway, it
would help you to make up your quota of female characters.

Oh and I'm going to skip over any discussion of plot and I would
respond if I accidentally read anything.  You just do whatever you
want.
