See, I meant specifically skipping over numbers more than just picking up
leftover plots. (58.5 is another series that's done this - and the painful
part is, it put Lalo within spitting distance of the end just before he
disappeared!) 

But I do remember one series that successfully did it - Fan.Boy.  Now, this
seems to have been successful because it was planned from the start; Jamas
made it a plot point that the 15th issue never appeared, and when the plot
got up to the reveal, he posted it. (At least, that's how I gather it
worked; anyone with a correction?)

It does still seem like I'm the only one who skipped over issue numbers to
get to the good parts/get to a story they had ideas for vs. one where they
were stuck who actually went back and filled it in.  This indicates, to me,
that doing so is generally a bad idea.
