I don't have much to say myself.  It's a promising start, though, and
I'll be eager to see where you go with this.  I especially enjoyed--

-- it feels right, and I hope that remains true through out the
series-- explaining the unexplained kind of takes the unexplainedness
out of it, doesn't it?  Keeping it an unsolved mystery-- an essential
and unknowable and ineffable thing-- goes a long way to building a
sense of wonder.

Looking forward to where you're going with this, and I'm glad you've
started posting again.
