That's because I completely mis-wrote Catalyst Lass in that story. :-)

I really hated the story for a long time after I had written it, and
only reread it recently because of a plug that Josh Hartung gave it.
And, upon re-reading it, I really dug it.

I think that's because at the time I wrote it, I wasn't as big on the
kind of really random humour that comes into play both in SIMON VELCRO
and my recent Master Blaster specials.  Now, the more surreal and
haphazard, the better!
