Lilith, in various apocryphal versions of Genesis, was Adam's first
wife.  She was unsatisfactory for various reasons (which run the gamut
from "hellish shrew" to "didn't submit to every single thing Adam
said", depending on who you ask), so she was replaced by Eve.  Google
