Excuse me? Do you really mean this as a generic comment?

If so, what is the point of having these detailed codes? I can understand
the approach of "use the first digit if you don't recognise the code", but
we've explicitly forbidden unknown responses to existing commands.

Anyway, what should you do with a 377 response? Or a 123? If you get 299,
is there following dot-stuffed text or not? Etc.
