it is unfortunate that 'remaining correct', which totally changes the
tone of that sentence, is separated so far from the verb.  How about:

  An NNTP client MAY cache the results of this command,
  but MUST NOT rely on any cached results remaining
  correct, whether from earlier in this session or from a
  previous session.

I like the wording from this section.

That last clause is a good idea.
