ietf-nntp Implementation and protocol

I've added the following to the end of section 2 ("Notation"):

    Terms which might be read as specifying details of a client or server
    implementation, such as "database", are used simply to ease description.
    Providing that implementations conform to the protocol and format
    specifications in this document, no specific technique is mandated.

If anyone has better wording it will be welcome.

Should it be at the end of the conformance requirements in section 1
instead?
