(Well, you *can* tell, because you can distinguish the innd welcome banner 
from the nnrpd welcome banner.  But ugh.)

I'm not sure exactly what the knowledge would get you, really, but if 
people think it's relevant then we can write it up as a proper extension 
at some future date.  Doesn't seem too urgent, though.
