Actually, there is a use for it.

The newsfeeding component of Diablo is able to double as a news
spool allowing articles to be retrieved using ARTICLE/HEAD/BODY/STAT.
This component doesn't implement POST, but does allow IHAVE.
It is possible to enable read-only access to this spool and hence
not allow IHAVE. Furthermore, during a particular state (part of
expire), the server cannot accept articles via IHAVE, but can still
allow articles to be retrieved. In these states Diablo returns 201
during the greeting.
