Anyone got any other comments on this ?

It's beginning to look to me as if it should actually be:

    Clients SHOULD issue a MODE READER command as the first command if,
    during the connection, they intend to use either the POST command or
    any command that fetches an article or information about an article.

I know that that's a bit wooly, but since the whole MODE READER bit is also
a bit wooly ...

Do any common servers apart from innd actually use the command ? For each
such server (including innd), what does "reader mode" actually affect ?
