ietf-nntp Selective download of MIME multipart/alternative in NNTP

If you want to do this then you should take a look at the FETCH command in
IMAP4, since it already supports this functionality.  There is no reason to
re-invent the wheel.

Some sites (Carnegie Mellon University comes to mind) have clients read news
using the IMAP4 protocol rather then NNTP.  This is an option elsewhere and
could be used instead of extending NNTP.
