NNTPEXT 42 Abstract

Stan Barber, Co-Chair

The working group decided that the "common practices" document should now
be advanced to the IESG for IETF last-call immediately. There were a number
of small changes for the "rfc977bis" document. This includes adding the
negate functionality (using "!") to wildmat, dropping the use of distributions
from NEWNEWS, and adding 502 as a valid response for the stat/article/body/head
commands. The group also decided to investigate a model for the administrative
infrastructure for extensions being used SMTP. Ned Freed will help in this
effort. The SRCH extension will be reissued with revisions to address UTF8
and will do last call on this document before next IETF. The group reviewed
the new draft for dynafeed and decided to make this a work item of the
working group. The group also reviewed the new draft for the AUTHINFO
extension (since this was removed from the RFC977bis as a result of the
last IETF) and make this a work item for the working group.
