I just checked with IANA's list of port numbers and there is nothing in that list that indicates that
port 433 has anything to do with news or NNTP. Here is exactly what is listed.
iasd 432/tcp IASD
iasd 432/udp IASD
# Nir Baroz <nbaroz at encore.com>
nnsp 433/tcp NNSP
nnsp 433/udp NNSP
# Rob Robertson <rob at gangrene.berkeley.edu>
mobileip-agent 434/tcp MobileIP-Agent
mobileip-agent 434/udp MobileIP-Agent
mobilip-mn 435/tcp MobilIP-MN
mobilip-mn 435/udp MobilIP-MN
My guess is that Nir Baroz may be able to shed some light on exactly what 433 is and how it works.
So, I see no reason to include it or define the protocol that runs on it as part of the NNTPEXT
working group.
