I believe that what 2#4 is saying (Jeff wrote this text AFAIR) that if 
client receives the AUTHINFO capability with no args (meaning that it 
*did* send LIST EXTENSIONS), it must not ignore the results and attempt 
AUTHINFO anyways.

In any case, I changed the MUST NOT to SHOULD NOT.
